It was real. J.W. Smith, the writer of this publishing, is himself that type of person and speaks openly and truthfully as life has dictated. I see this book becoming a movie to bring to life vividly all the happenings in it, chapter by chapter, paragraph by paragraph, line by line, word by word, action by action.

I really enjoyed the gripping tale of No Love Lost. Even though the characters were fictional, the lifestyle that Jay, Q, and Casper were living was not. The author did a great job of describing what its like living in the ghetto and how some circumstances can lead you to a life that you never really chose but just became apart of you. A way to survive. I also thought that Jay did a good job in turning his life around. Even though he messed up a few times, eventually he got it together. 5 star read all the way!
J.W.Smith has definitely done a great job with No Love Lost. The story of Lil Jay from his childhood to his adult life was was very well written. He takes the story down his road from the hood, to jail and finally to his decision to let go of the hood life and live life on life terms. All the
characters are very well written and keeps you wanting to know what will happen next. This story is page turning and pulls you so far in that you just have to keep reading. Must say that this book is a must read.
What can I say.. I couldn't get enough of this book. I'd put it down and be drawn right back to see what happens next. I've read several books on my kindle but this is one that took me on a emotional rollercoaster, maybe because a lot I could relate to having street man myself. Thank GOD for second chances, some people change some stay the same. You should read this book it's great write. I just got into reading urban written books because they all usually have the same story line, this one does too but it's all hood TRUE.
No love lost was a great read. I could not stop reading it. Charlette and Jay were my favorite characters as well as Q. Q kept things very interesting. It was unforunate that he did not change in the end. Casper and Jay finally got it together even though the street temptations were there. I could relate to Charlette. I am prisoners wife and its not easy at all. Just like Charlette I had to deal with trials and tribulations in my marriage. Jay finally realize to love and appreciate Charlette. I am glad that Jay had strong woman like Charlette to keep him ground and motivated to do better in life. I am going to give this book to my hubby maybe he can learn from the characters.
I was pleasantly surprised by this story. Just from the title and cover art I thought it was going to be a romance. Well...there is romance thrown into the life a thug who learns to do better. This story's characters will grow on you. Jay, Casper, and Q are as close as brothers and loyal to one another.Two learned from their mistakes and one just refused to change his mindset. I loved how the author ended this story! The ending had a significant twist and this book could stand alone or have a sequel if the author is so inclined to continue the tale. If you like street lit with a romantic twist this is the book for you.l
This is an excellent read that will capture you from the opening page, beginning with the accolades and acknowledgements from the Author. Mr. JW Smith is a Master of his craft as he weaves the storyline of Lil Jay. What develops on these pages are in fact real life situations for some people today. I highly recommend you "one click" this and take the journey with Lil Jay and Company. You will NOT regret it.

I look forward to continuing to follow this Author with other works. Mr. Smith is very inspirational and encouraging in his Facebook writings/postings. He has a keen insight into male/female issues that plague relationships. Befriend or follow him. You will be uplifted.
Lil' Jay started his street career at the age of seven. At thirteen he considered himself "The Man." Not surprising, since he grew up in a dysfunctional household where his dad is a womanizer and mom is always beating on her husband's mistresses. Both Jay's parents will pay a high price for their transgressions.

Lil' Jay longs to get on the big team in town run by Fat Cash. Now Fat Cash was cool with adding Jay to his team under one condition; stay in school and graduate. After one false start Jay wised up and got his diploma and upon graduating Jay, along with his friends Casper and Q were recruited onto Fat Cash's team.

After a million dollar heist orchestrated by Fat Cash is successfully carried out by Jay and his friends, things begin to look bright. But something or someone leads the police to the team and they are picked up and arrested. Five years in prison is what is handed out. Now they are living among the harden criminals, will any lessons be learned?

A few things in the story could have been developed a little more. Jay trusted his father to invest money... when did daddy clean up his act? Keeping in mind why Jay's mother was sentenced, she was all over her husband at the end of the story. I get that he must have changed, but what she went through was harsh and there was no mention of some kind of talk and/or rehab program.
The author spent quite a bit of time on Jay and Charlette's relationship, so when it jumped from hot to cold the author only "mentioned" why, instead of developing a scene that played out how the older Charlette would have handled the situation.
Some silly grammatical errors were spotted which could have been picked up by a proofreader.

I did in enjoy this story though, and it was nice to see folks getting a second chance after making serious mistakes. Only a couple of situations here weren't justified or made clear, so I was left asking myself how and why.
